Teddy Bear Ministry

The Teddy Bear Ministry has been here at Immanuel since 2015 when a former congregant returned to visit and brought a Teddy Bear from his new church. Giving someone a Teddy Bear who is going through difficult times lets them know they are not alone.

The saying on the Teddy Bear is:

This Bear has been among the congregation of Immanuel Lutheran Church. It has heard the Word read, prayers prayed, praises sung, and sermons preached. It has been loved by the people of Immanuel and has soaked in God’s love. Now it comes to you with blessings of worship and love.

When the Teddy Bear Ministry first started, we used donated bears. Now, we purchase bears to give out. We have given out more than five hundred bears to people all over the United States. Before the pandemic, the Teddy Bears sat on each end of the pew. Now, they are in a basket in the narthex. Anyone visiting the church may take one to give to someone going through a tough time or to keep for themselves. Those who have received a Teddy Bear are very grateful and still keep them close. This program is a simple way to let people know they are loved and to spread God's love.

We are accepting donations to purchase more Teddy Bears to keep this ministry going.
